Bubble Gum Valentines

Valentine’s Day in the classroom can feel like a lot. Between curriculum demands, class parties, and keeping things simple (but still special), it’s easy to overthink classroom valentines. After years of trial and error, I’ve found a system that works for me every single time—and I’ve stuck with it because it checks all the boxes.

Every year, I use pink bubble gum paired with Valentine tags that I make myself. It’s simple, inexpensive, and my 5th graders absolutely love it.

Why I Keep It Simple

I used to feel pressure to come up with something new each year. Pinterest-perfect ideas are fun to look at, but they’re not always practical when you’re buying for a whole class. Over time, I realized that kids don’t need elaborate gifts—they want something fun, festive, and a little sweet.
