March Is Reading Month
March is one of the most exciting months of the year in our school—because it’s March Is Reading Month! Inspired by the spirit of National Education Association’s Read Across America, we’re celebrating the joy of books with schoolwide challenges, creative activities, and our very own Reading Olympics!
Whether students are diving into a new adventure, listening to a story read aloud, or decorating bookmarks, there are so many ways to build a love of reading all month long.
How It Works
Each class will:
- Hang their Reading Olympics grid outside their classroom door.
- Complete fun literacy-themed activities
- Color in each square as activities are completed
Students will also have access to a Digital Bookshelf featuring recommendations from Read Across America. This curated collection includes diverse stories that celebrate different cultures, perspectives, and experiences—encouraging every child to see themselves in a book and discover new worlds through reading.
Reading isn’t just about turning pages—it’s about creativity, too! As part of our celebration, classes will decorate their own bookmarks. Students can design, color, and personalize bookmarks to use all month long.
